THE MANÚ PROJECT has existed since 2014. Since then, the project has completed a preliminary scout, a first expedition and a short documentary film, The Trees Don’t Talk Anymore. All focused on the mosaic of indigenous cultures fighting to maintain their ancient knowledge and traditions against modernization within Manu National Park, Peruvian Amazon.
The Trees Don't Talk Anymore is presented by The Manu Project, 2016 Expedition. The Trees Don't Talk Anymore takes us deep inside the Peruvian Amazon to a place called Manu National Park, where a hidden culture is navigating an ever changing landscape of modernization.
"There is a deficiency of our youth. The older generation soon will leave this Earth as we are not made out of rock...Modernization has intimidated us to think that our knowledge has no value... I ask the world and all of humanity, do not ruin us with modernization. Respect our identity and take our knowledge seriously."
